Man United line-up v Everton: Fan favourite to replace Rooney?

first_imgThe Spain international is a popular figure among United supporters, and many believe Rooney’s suspension is a blessing in disguise for Mata to cement his position in the first XI.Van Gaal has alternative, though, and could opt for Belgium international Adnan Januzaj, with the 19-year-old one of Europe’s most promising young players.Januzaj has been knocking on the door of the first-team in recent weeks with a string of impressive performances for the U21 side, including a hat-trick against Sunderland, and given the Dutchman’s philosophy of promoting youth, he could even head the tip of a diamond formation in place of Mata.Despite Rooney’s suspension, going forward has not been the issue for United with the plethora of attacking talent. It’s defensively where they have been susceptible.Northern Irishman Paddy McNair impressed in his senior debut against the Hammers, and is set to continue with Phil Jones yet to recover following a hamstring problem.Vice-captain Darren Fletcher could replace the injured Herrera, and he would provide additional support to Daley Blind in front of the back four, allowing the likes of Angel Di Maria, Van Persie and Falcao to attack at will.Man United fans, how do you think you’ll line up against Everton?
